Nothing Says Romance Like Roses

January 30, 2018 / Blooms Today

Roses have captured the paint brush of artists, the lyrics of songs, the words of poems and many a camera lens of photographers. Their beauty is stunning. Fragrance is lovely. Petals are so finely shaped and silky smooth. The deep green leaves are gorgeous. Even the thorns are exquisite. “There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence” extolled Ralph Waldo Emerson. And the famed British doctor turned writer and creator of Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle, merely stated: “What a lovely thing a rose is!”

Roses seem always to be in the top 10 gifts for lovers, with red roses capping the list. Red is one of the most powerful colors in the universe, and it connotes passion and strength. It’s been said that red increases the energy in a room, and the power tie with a man’s suit is most often red. So, once you take the sophisticated color of red and combine that with the ravishing elegance of a rose, you are expressing love, romance and passion in a most powerful way.

You can add an adorable teddy bear, gourmet chocolates or a balloon, too. Artisan roses, pink or purple vases, a cross or angel ornament and simply multi-color roses are all available. Roses speak to true love, and understands that well.
